Garage Door Installation & Replacement
Steel, insulated, aluminium-and-glass and wood-look doors, wind-load rated for your address, permitted, installed and hauled away in one appointment.
The largest opening in your house deserves more than a catalogue pick
A garage door is typically a third of the street-facing elevation of a Florida home, the biggest structural opening in the building, and the single component most likely to fail in a wind event. That makes a replacement three decisions at once: how it looks, how it performs in heat and salt, and what it is rated to withstand.
We start from your address. Wind-load requirements differ across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee counties, and in high-velocity hurricane zones the product needs a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance. Once the rating is settled, we show you the doors that meet it in the style you actually want — not the other way round.
What the installation includes
- On-site measure, wind-load check and written quote with product data
- Permit application and inspection coordination where the county requires it
- Removal and disposal of the old door, tracks and hardware
- New tracks, hinges, rollers, springs sized to the new door weight, and reinforcing struts
- Coastal-spec hardware and weather sealing at the jambs and threshold
- Opener re-integration, force calibration and safety reverse testing
- Handover with warranty documents and maintenance guidance

What to weigh before you buy
Wind-load rating
Non-negotiable and address-specific. Ask for the rating and the approval number, not a reassurance.
Insulation value
An insulated door in a garage that shares a wall with living space is a measurable comfort and utility difference in Florida heat.
Material and finish
Steel with a coastal coating, aluminium with glass, or composite wood-look. Real wood needs real maintenance here.
Window and glass options
Impact-rated glazing, obscure and frosted options, and how much street-level privacy you want.
Hardware spec
Galvanised or stainless fixings, sealed bearings and nylon rollers if you are near the water.
Opener compatibility
Heavier and insulated doors sometimes need a stronger drive or a new spring set on the same visit.
What the visit looks like
Measure and specify
On-site measure, opening check, wind-load determination and a written quote with product literature.
Permit and order
We file the permit where required and order the exact rated product for your address.
Install day
Old door out, new door, tracks, springs and hardware in, sealed, calibrated and tested — most single installs in a day.
Inspection and handover
We meet the inspector where applicable and leave you with warranties and NOA documentation.
What a new door costs
Installed pricing depends on the door, the rating and what the opening needs. These are the real drivers.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Size and configuration | A single 8x7 versus a double 16x7 versus two singles changes both product and labour. |
| Wind and impact rating | Higher-velocity zones and impact-rated glazing carry a material premium — and are frequently mandatory. |
| Insulation and construction | Single-layer steel through triple-layer polyurethane sandwich construction. |
| Glass and design | Window sections, full-view aluminium and custom overlays sit well above stamped steel. |
| Opening condition | Rotten jambs, out-of-square openings and header work add scope; we quote it before install day. |
| Permits and inspection | County fees and inspection coordination, itemised in the quote rather than buried. |
Every job is quoted in writing on site before work starts. Ranges given by phone are estimates until a technician sees the door.
Coastal specification matters
Within a few miles of the Atlantic or the Gulf, an ordinary galvanised finish and standard hardware will show rust in a couple of seasons. We specify coastal-grade coatings, stainless or hot-dip fixings, sealed nylon rollers and marine-rated bottom seals as a default east of I-95 and along the Gulf beaches, and we will tell you plainly when your address does not need the upgrade.
