What counts as an emergency

Some garage door problems can wait for a scheduled slot. These cannot: a door stuck open overnight, a door off its tracks, a snapped spring on the only exit for a vehicle you need, a commercial bay that is holding up a shift, or wind and water damage after a storm. In every one of those cases the building is either insecure or out of action, and the cost of waiting is higher than the cost of the call-out.

Our emergency line is answered by a person, not a queue. You will be told a realistic arrival window before you hang up, and if what you are describing can be made safe without a truck — disengaging the opener, securing the door manually — we will walk you through it on the phone first.

What we can do at 2am

  • Secure and close a door that is stuck open, then repair or make safe
  • Re-track a door that has jumped its rails, if the frame is undamaged
  • Replace snapped torsion and extension springs and lift cables
  • Bypass or replace a failed opener so the door can be operated
  • Board, brace or secure storm and impact damage until a permitted replacement can be fitted
  • Get a commercial bay or dock door moving again

Situations that need dispatch, not an appointment

01

The door will not close

Your garage, and usually the door into the house, is open to the street. This is the most common emergency we attend.

02

The door is off its tracks

Hanging, twisted or leaning doors are unstable. Keep everyone clear and do not touch the opener.

03

A vehicle is trapped

A snapped spring on a double door can make it impossible to lift safely by hand.

04

Storm or impact damage

Wind-loaded panels, water intrusion and bent tracks after a storm need assessment before the next cycle.

05

A commercial bay is down

Loading docks and fleet bays are revenue. We prioritise business downtime calls.

06

Something is smoking or sparking

Kill the power at the breaker and call. Do not reset the opener.

Our process

What the visit looks like

01

We answer, day or night

A real person takes the details and gives you an arrival window.

02

Immediate safety guidance

If it can be secured before we arrive without risk, we tell you exactly how.

03

On-site make-safe

The first priority is a secure, closed, stable door — then the repair.

04

Repair or temporary secure

Most faults are fixed on the spot. Where parts or permits are needed, we secure the opening and book the return.

Pricing

How emergency pricing works

We would rather you knew the structure before you call than be surprised on the invoice.

FactorWhy it matters
Time of dayStandard rates during business hours. After-hours, overnight and holiday dispatch carries a call-out premium, quoted before we roll.
What failedThe repair itself is priced the same as it would be on a scheduled visit — the premium is for the response, not the part.
Make-safe vs full repairSecuring an opening is cheaper than a full repair. Some customers choose make-safe now, repair tomorrow.
Storm periodsDuring named-storm activity we triage by risk to property and safety. Availability, not price, is the constraint.
Commercial priorityBusiness accounts and maintenance-contract customers move to the front of the queue.

Every job is quoted in writing on site before work starts. Ranges shown by phone are estimates until a technician sees the door.

Storm season readiness

From June through November the garage door is the opening most likely to fail under sustained wind pressure — and once it goes, internal pressure can lift a roof structure. If your door flexes visibly in a squall, has no reinforcing struts, or predates current wind-load requirements, get it assessed before the next system forms. See hurricane-rated garage doors for what a compliant door involves.

FAQ

Emergency Garage Door Repair — questions we get asked

Are you really available 24 hours?
Yes. The emergency line is staffed around the clock, seven days a week, including holidays and named-storm periods.
How fast can you get to me?
It depends on the city and the time. Within our core metros — Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Naples, Sarasota — overnight arrival windows are typically a couple of hours. You will be given a realistic window on the call, not a promise we cannot keep.
Can I lift the door myself if the spring broke?
Please do not. With a broken spring the full weight of the door — often 200 to 400 pounds — is unbalanced, and it can slam. Leave it as it is and call.
My door will not close and I need to leave. What now?
Call us first: in many cases we can talk you through engaging the manual release and securing the door closed with the emergency lock, then attend on the next available slot at standard rates.
Do you handle insurance claims after storm damage?
We provide photo-documented reports, itemised estimates and wind-load documentation suitable for a claim, and we can work with your adjuster on scope.
Do you cover commercial emergencies?
Yes — warehouse, storefront, dock and fleet bay doors, including rolling steel and high-speed units. Maintenance-contract customers get priority dispatch.
